Make a custom Wine Bag

Steps to Crafting a Custom Wine Bag with Cricut

Step 1: Go to Design Space and select your design. Resize it to your liking. For this guide, we’ll use a design width of eight and a half inches. Customize the color of your design, in this case, we’ve switched the word “cheers” from red to green. Once happy with your design, click ‘make it’.

Step 2: Your design elements, like stars and circles, may align differently on the next screen. For optimal use of material, you can manually place these on the wine bag. If you’re using infusible ink, remember to activate the ‘mirror’ button. This ensures the design is not backward when pressed. Arrange your design centrally on the mat to leave room for additional elements.

Step 3: Select the material you’re using. As infusible ink is used here, you’ll be prompted to mirror your image if you haven’t done so already. Load your material onto your mat, ensuring the shiny side is facing down, and place it into the machine. When ready, press the go button and let the machine cut the design. Repeat this for each color.

Step 4: After unloading the material from your machine, trim or cut it, leaving some space around your central design for additional elements. Use a weeding tool to remove unwanted material. Place your smaller design pieces (stars, circles) around your main design and prepare your heat press.

Step 5: Place your wine bag on the heat press mat with butcher paper inside to prevent ink bleed-through. Clean the bag with a lint roller, preheat your material for 15 seconds, then place your design color side down, using heat tape to secure it.

Step 6: Add a layer of butcher paper on top of your design to protect your heat press. Apply pressure and press your design for 1 minute. Allow it to cool before removing the design.
