Free SVG Files for Cricut Cutting Machines

What is an SVG File

SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphic. This is the file type that is used by the Cricut range of cutting machines. The advantage of this type of file is that it can be scaled to different sizes without any lose of quality. This type of file can also be opened using Inkscape Software which is free and available from https://inkscape.org/.

Personal or Commercial use?

The next thing to check with your free file is what type of license is available with it. A Personal License means that you can make the free design for personal use only but you are not able to sell it. A commercial license means you can sell the finished item for profit. Some licenses only allow you to sell a certain amount of products so always check it fully.

Copyright?

This is a very complicated issue and it is your responsibility to check! Just because someone has made the SVG cut file it does not mean it is copyright free. Rule of thumb is that if its a Football logo,Disney character or Cartoon character for instance its going to be copyrighted. Just because someone has made the file for free it does not mean it is legal.
